Tension Free Transvaginal Tape (TVT Sling)

To date more than 200,000 patients worldwide (75,000 in U.S.) have been treated with GYNECARE TVT Tension-free transvaginal sling support for incontinence. The majority of clinical studies report cure rates between 85-95%, most patients notice immediate improvement. At a recent summit meeting of TVT sling experts, analysis revealed 23 clinical papers with a combined cure rate of 89% (standard deviation 9%) overall (including primary and secondary cases) with an improvement in an additional 5% of patients.

Since that time approximately 300 surgeons have traveled to Atlanta to watch Dr. Miklos and Dr. Moore perform the surgical procedure so they might be able to return to their practice and offer this exciting new minimally invasive operation to their patients. In October 2000 Dr. Miklos was awarded the Golden Laparoscope Award at the 30th Annual American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists for his teaching video on the Tension free Transvaginal Tape procedure.
