Single Incision Sling (Mini Sling) Complications: Vaginal Mesh Extrusion / Visible Mesh

Any mesh operation can results in vaginal mesh extrusion. Vaginal mesh extrusion means the mesh is exposed and can be either seen or felt coming through the skin of the vagina. Patients with this condition may be asymptomatic or present with symptoms of vaginal pain, which is usually exacerbated with sex. Normally the patient’s sexual partner will note the rough abrasive mesh during intercourse. This also may result in some bleeding during sex.
