TOT SLING COMPLICATIONS: VAGINAL PAIN / PAIN DURING SEX

Bladder sling complications can occur after a TOT sling. One of the most common sling complications is vaginal pain or pain during sex/intercourse. This is due to excessive mesh tension which can be a direct result of surgery or a delayed result of scarring. The tension creates a band like effect which creates pain. One does NOT need to have urine retention to have vaginal pain or pain during sex/intercourse. This can often be fixed by removing approximately 4-6 cm of mesh. Please see videos below.
