Sincerely grateful, M'BabeKristin Robson2024-04-24I had a total abdominal hysterectomy 5 years ago that resulted in me developing a vesicovaginal fistula, a debilitating, embarrassing injury I'd never heard of prior to my surgery. Statistically, I was told that 90% of vesicovaginal fistulas are corrected with one repair surgery and the remaining 10% are corrected with a second repair surgery. From April 2019 through December 2020, I had 4 surgeries to repair the fistula at two different hospital systems with three different surgeons. One of those repairs was done at a Mayo Clinic, where I received excellent care but sadly, suffered a recurrence after my surgery. When my fourth repair began to break down, I really began to lose hope that I was ever going to get past this problem. I have said on a number of occasions that I could honestly write a book about my journey. This injury has negatively impacted every aspect of my life: career, social, financial, and most importantly, emotional. There are not adequate words to express how this process has made me feel defeat, humiliation and depression. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy if I had one. I don't know why or how it took me so long to come across Miklos and Moore Urogynecology, but I finally did, on a tearful Google search on New Year's Eve December 2023, hoping to find a new lease on life in the new year. I had a consultation with Dr. Miklos at his Charleston office in January 2024 and felt so confident and reassured by him that I scheduled surgery for February in Atlanta. Our consultation was very thorough, and we watched a video of what the surgery would look like. He explained the differences between his technique and techniques that are often used in vesicovaginal fistula repair surgeries. He answered all of my and my husband's questions. I have never spent so much time with a doctor in a visit in this journey. Today, 4/24/24, I have been leakage free for 31 days. I have not purchased any products for incontinence since my surgery. I have gone out without worry of having an accident. This is the first time in over 5 years of misery that I have experienced this. I am very hopeful that this fifth repair surgery will be my last thanks to the fantastic care I received from Dr. Miklos, the team at Northside Hospital in Atlanta and Danielle, Tara, Heidi and Sarah from Dr. Miklos' office. I have received more phone call check-ins than I can even count at this point from my doctor personally, plus additional communication from the wonderful ladies in his office. Dr. Miklos is a shining example of what we all hope healthcare will look like, but too often doesn't. “It has been five years and I still could not be happier! When I came to Dr. Miklos my quality of life was suffering and I was only 31 years old. I was a mother, wife, and nurse, yet I was struggling at all those things. Sadly, I was not enjoying any of them with my silent struggles. I went to Emory University and another prestigious urogynecologist in the Atlanta area, but none of them offered me the hope that Dr. Miklos was able to offer me. “My 17 y/o daughter came to me and wanted surgery. I had no idea about her wanting a Labiaplasty. She had been researching on her own for a couple of years. She found Dr. Miklos and was convinced he was the one for her. We went for the consultation and the office staff was amazing, the office itself was very high end. Dr. Miklos was very informative, professional, intelligent and he is top-notch. We scheduled the surgery within weeks. The surgery was at the hospital, all went well, the hospital staff was excellent. Recovery time from the procedure varied, pain subsided after a few days, swelling didn’t take long either. Ice packs and meds helped in the recovery, also following the directions in the packet. Heidi was amazing in responding to any questions regarding recovery. “For two years I considered this procedure, researching it high and low online. I went through so many before and after pictures from doctors. Dr. Miklos is the doctor you want and need. I think every woman goes through the ups and downs of deciding about this surgery because it’s a sensitive and important area. We naturally have so many questions and concerns…and I promise you Dr. Miklos will handle you with so much care, concern, and transparency. Have a consult with him to relieve the stress and myriad of questions you have. What I appreciated most was his transparency and honesty about the process and my individual situation. I never felt like I was being pushed into doing any of it or “sold” into choosing him. “My name is Maryam Bennett, & after 3 years of Chronic pain, countless trips to numerous doctors which told me they couldn’t see any reason for my pain, and several hospital stays due the intensity of the pain I would get nerve blocks which caused gi bleeds, God answered my prayers by way of Dr. Miklos!
All I can say is he is God touched. The feeling of waking up without a pain that I felt for 3 years, all I could do was cry and praise God! It sounds crazy to say that I woke up after surgery without pain. The surgical incisions hurt, but way less than the feeling of being torn in two because of abdominal adhesions.

“My problems all began after my first child. I had a very hard and long labor which I ended up with a 4 inch tear from the delivery. I noticed some changes began too. I felt heavy in my vaginal area and I felt like I was bulging out. I went to my gynecologist and he dismissed it as nothing. Well I knew he was wrong so I set out searching for some answers. Giving me my life back
“My experience was amazing from the moment we walked in the door and was so warmly greeted, to getting released from the hospital we were treated so, so great! I have never had a consultation with a doctor for 2 1/2 hours, let alone with 3 doctors of their caliber. They asked so many questions and then they would discuss with all 3 of them. I was told by my urogynecologist and pelvic pain specialist that I had nerve damage, scar tissue and adhesions that was causing my extreme pain. I had my transvaginal mesh taken out in October 2016. Dr. Miklos and Dr. Lemos found after my thorough examination that the 4 arms of the mesh needed to be removed. I didn’t even know the arms were there, I just knew I couldn’t go on with the extreme pain I was having. After a long surgery having them removed and I could tell within a couple days that I was better! I was still very sore, but it was from the surgery, not the mesh! We are so grateful to Dr. Miklos and Dr. Lemos for giving me my life back!! I would recommend this whole practice to anyone with mesh complications, and I will never trust any other doctor to do any further procedures, if needed. “I had a labiaplasty and it was the most easy and comfortable surgical experiences I have had. I was not nervous to talk about the procedure with him.
